Summer Conclusion

I can't believe that summer is almost over! Me and Chipper have really enjoyed all of the outside playtime, especially with a little break in the heatwave recently. There was a great little stint of nice breezy weather, and it was glorious. The pictures above are of Chippums chewing on the cow femur he got in his Bark Box, which he LOVED. Now that he has gotten all the flavor off it, I like to put peanut butter inside it for him.

I can't even deal with this picture. It kills me <3 p="">

His ears do this all the time. My friend Alanna says he can hear better that way. haha!

My basil and cilantro did really well this year! I was excited about letting the cilantro go to seed, and I've harvested some of the coriander already. It is STRONG so a little goes a long way, but I absolutely love it. Sadly my lettuce is way past done so no more fresh salads.

My sister started school back on Friday, which always seems like the beginning of the end of summer. So sad! In a way I'm excited though, because FALLLLLLLLL! I can't wait to be able to breath again when I go for a run. The humidity makes me feel like I have asthma, and it is pretty miserable. Oh and speaking of nothing related, I just started preparing to remodel my studio upstairs, so I'm excited for that to happen in the next few weeks! I will definitely post a before and after when it's done. I am pulling up carpet, painting and doing some MAJOR reorganization and purging. I'm so stoked about having a clean open space to work in for once.

I hope you all have had a fantastic and productive weekend!

Shop Update- Photography Service

Have I ever shared this little item from my shop? If I have...sorry for the repetition. I have recently made some changes, so here ya go!
I decided one day a long time ago that I wanted to just offer this little service and see if anyone was interested. I had mixed feelings coming from the forums, but I went ahead and did it anyway!
I got a few people interested, but none of them followed through...until Katy of KatyScudieri. She trusted me enough to send some items and get this started! For that, I will forever be grateful...thank you, Katy! Only a small portion of the images in her shop are mine, but I have worked with a few shops that exclusively use my images.  One example is MableMae. The owner's name is Lenesha, and she is super talented! I've also worked with Kristen of shop3littlebirds, Sue of alongcomesmary and tackybackintime, and Joyce of TheCrochetBarn. Each of these Etsy sellers has been a blast to work with. I love setting up the photo shoots and using props that fit the items! I also love checking up on their shops and seeing if their business improves with the new images.

I've really been keeping busy with this lately, and I like it very much! It keeps me constantly shooting and in the studio, which is something I want to be doing forever. I was afraid when I started working as a web designer that I wouldn't shoot much anymore. But this Etsy photo service has squelched that worry! Yay!

Check out the listing if you're interested...or know anyone interested. I've made some changes to the amount of items and shipping details, so I'm excited to see how the changes affect the growth of this "business"

What do you guys think? Would you ever send you precious handmade/vintage wares to a photographer?

Mug and Painting

Not feeling great today, so I'll just leave you with some new things from Shepherd's Haven. SH is a wonderful organization that ministers to adults with special needs. They have houses where 6-8 participants (adult age) can live together with house parents, and they also have a snazzy day center where the participants spend their days on fun activities including Bible study, crafts, and field trips. All the items in the Etsy shop were made by adults with special needs at the Day Center. They LOVE making work for the shop...you can see it in their wonderful smiles :)

Find these great items in the shop! Plus, you know...there's tons of other great stuff in there too.

Ye Old Shop Update

New in my shop: Summer Deer Garden
This is my newest endeavor in small things. I love the colors and the fact that it's a diptych. I also love that it's not immediately evident that there are deer hanging out on the flowers. This is one of my favorites in the shop, mainly because it doesn't have a message. Sometimes I just want my work to "be" instead of trying to communicate (not always...but sometimes).

available in 8x10
and 5x7

Set of Two Mugs in Brown
Grey Imprinted Cross Ornament
Mint Daisy Bowl

UPDATE: We have a winner of <--this giveaway-->
I'm too lazy to mirror the image...ha. Congratulations, Angie!

Shop Update

First of all, I was very excited to be featured on the front page of Etsy.com today. It's always a joy when that happens! Thanks for getting me there, friends <3 Love you all!

I recently had the urge to make some more cards, so I hopped to it. I made a set of four cards, and I'm pretty excited about them. Let me know what you think! You can see them in the shop here

I'm in a Branding Mood

I have decided that I need a brand! I'll probably try to work on it more soon, but for now I've just started with a name and a banner for my Etsy shop. My name: DeerSweet Images. And here is my banner:

You can see it better on the Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/kristimcmurry

I'd love to hear what you think!

New Offerings

Guess who has two new miniature photographs?! ME!

1st

2nd

I'm still trying to decide on names for these, so if you have any suggestions let me know! Both of these were commissioned by a wonderful Etsy customer. She wanted one photo with beans and one with peanuts. So this is what I came up with!

Terms of Endearment

Sweetie Pie, Pumpkin, Sugar....Honey Bear, Sugar Bear. I took the last two and made them into miniature photographs. Honey Bear is my favorite...ever. It looks like it's actually glowing in the metallic print. I don't usually "love" my pictures, but I LOVE that one. They are now listed in my etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/kristimcmurry

New sets of greeting cards - a very friendly set

This is my first set of greeting cards "5 ways to say Hello" I used my photographs and combined them with hand-embroidered designs and words to make these little gems. I think I've found a new hobby, because I really enjoy making these!

This is the 4th set of cards that I made, but it was the first set that I listed on Etsy. These are Valentine's Day cards that combine my photographs with hand-embroidery and interesting cutouts. I used some metallic cardstock in these, which I love!!!

This is the 3rd set that I made, using internet language. I am guilty of using these little abbreviations, so I figured I might as well make cards! I think the OMG one is my favorite.

Ornaments Galore!

If you need some last minute ornaments for your tree, look no further!
Just listed a ton of new Shepherd's Haven ornaments at low prices. Donny makes the cutout shapes and other participants at the Day Center paint them. My favorite is the blue star ornament :) Enjoy! Click on the pictures to see them on etsy
