Rejuvenating

In my last post, I mentioned that I got to go visit Shepherd's Haven a couple weeks ago on my day off. At work we get our birthday off, but we can take that day whenever we want, so I decided to take mine a couple of weeks ago and drive to Memphis! Of course my first stop was Shepherd's Haven.

This is Elizabeth, my friend Emily's sister. She's the reason I even got involved with Shepherd's Haven. I love that girl! It was so nice to see her and chat with her while she painted ceramics. I'm totally her favorite :) I also got to meet some of the newer Shepherd's Haven artists while I was there. Joy and Angelica (below) were just a couple of the sweet new faces.

It was just fantastic to get to visit! It always rejuvenates my desire to keep running their Etsy shop. I know how important it is to keep that place going. It means the world to all of those wonderful people.

After I left there, Emily and I went to eat lunch and shop around for a couple of hours. I always enjoy visiting with her, no matter how short the visit is. We ate at Firehouse Subs, which was amazing! I'd never been there, and I was so impressed. I wish we had one in my town!

Shepherd's Haven Shop Update

It's been a while since I posted a shop update for Shepherd's Haven. I have added lots of new things lately, but several of my favorites have sold already! It really gives me so much joy to see sales going well for them. Here are some of my favorites that are still in the shop...

Most of these are my favorites because of the color. I love all the fun glazes they've been using (especially the blue on that cross ornament). Isn't that bowl so great?! I feel like it looks very Easter-y with those pastel colors. I don't care much for the pink on the spoon rest, but I know it's right for someone. I just love that we have a spoon rest in the shop! And let's talk about that awesome drip glaze on the soup mug...wow. I really love functional pieces that are also decorative. That mug is the PERFECT size for soup, or even an extra big cup of coffee (we all have those days). 

I hope you all like these! I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with next year :) My visit to the Shepherd's Haven Day Center last week was so much fun. I'll definitely post some pictures for you guys. I took lots of the people working on their ceramics. They were having so much fun!

Visit to Shepherd's Haven

A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of spending some time at Shepherd's Haven Day Center. I work with them on their Etsy shop, but I rarely get the chance to go visit! It was so wonderful to give everyone hugs and chat about what they've been up to. There are some wonderful new things popping into their shop, and in a few days I'll be photographing and listing a BUNCH of amazing ornaments. I can't wait!

Brian and Moriah (Not sure if I spelled that right...) He's quite the bundle of excitement, as you can see. And she is such a sweet spirited young lady. I enjoyed talking to her :) 

Rodney wanted me to take his picture while he was eating a sandwich. Not sure why?! But I love it!

Dawn is like...the cutest little thing in the world! I just want to pinch her little cheeks!  She's very quiet, but whenever I ask her to give me a smile, she always obliges.

Liz didn't want to go swimming (which was their afternoon activity), so she made her little bead things! I think most of the times I see Liz, she is playing with these beads...or maybe drawing with markers. One of the two!  I love her to pieces!

I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the "behind the scenes" at Shepherd's Haven! I really love that place, and I love all the beautiful things they make. It is such a wonderful ministry, that I've been so excited to see grow over the past couple of years. I think their move to Bellevue Baptist Church facilities was such a great blessing!

Shop Update: Shepherd's Haven

Tons of new stuff in the Shepherd's Haven shop, and let me tell ya...it's going to get even better! I've got some great new stuff to photograph and list, so keep and eye out. Mug and Painting

New from Shepherd's Haven

Not feeling great today, so I'll just leave you with some new things from Shepherd's Haven. SH is a wonderful organization that ministers to adults with special needs. They have houses where 6-8 participants (adult age) can live together with house parents, and they also have a snazzy day center where the participants spend their days on fun activities including Bible study, crafts, and field trips. All the items in the Etsy shop were made by adults with special needs at the Day Center. They LOVE making work for the shop...you can see it in their wonderful smiles :)
