Flowers and the Feline

Today's post is going to be really simple...like most of my posts are I suppose. My aunt asked me if I could take some pictures of flowers for her to print for her home, so I took a few on Saturday. I love to get fresh flowers from the farmer's market when I make it out there, so I picked some up. I think some of the pictures look nice, but I'm going to take a few more in the next few days.

I like the second and third ones best. I also took the opportunity to snap some pictures of my little Dudley lounging on the table. Don't worry, I never eat at that table anyway. He actually sat there and let me take several of him! He usually skitters away. And yes...I know he's abnormally large. I'm convinced he's half panther. This was pretty much what my whole weekend looked like. Just lounging around the house, besides a few hours where I helped my step-mom prime some closet shelves. It was nice to get stuff done around the house!

Ok, moving on from fine flowers and feline friends, I'm going to Little Rock for a conference in a couple of days! My friend, Gabrielle, is coming along, and we'd love some suggestions for where to visit. Any antique/vintage/thrift shops would be great, or some fun eateries. We're up for exploration!

Ok, they do look red in the picture, but in reality, the roses are white with pink tips...and they're so pretty! Rhett was a sweetheart and sent them to me at work today. He said he was going to pick me some daffodils (my favorite flower), but our cold weather has killed them for now. It's the thought that counts! I can't wait to get these home and put them in one of my milk glass vases. They're going to look so good. Almost good enough to eat...

Don't worry, I won't really eat them.

I'm posting this last picture for two reasons. 1.) Those pearl earrings are some that Rhett gave me a few years ago. At this point I don't remember what it was for, but I THINK it was Christmas. I like to wear them on special days like Valentine's and our anniversary. I think they're just perfect. 2.) This is how I've been wearing my hair all the time, and I actually like it. I usually am so fed up with my hair just being ALL OVER THE PLACE, but with the twist it stays out of my seat belt, out of my food, and out of my face. It's awesome.

Craspedia Crazy

I am so happy that I had a pretty relaxed December, because so far January has been busy. I like that life goes back and forth like that. I do enjoy having things to do, but too much of that can make me a little bit crazy! I also find that I'm more successful in maintaining healthy habits when I have fewer tasks to worry with. Since I've been so busy, I haven't had a lot of time to prepare the posts I want to do! I have so many things I want to show you guys, but the time will come :)

For now, I want to post about Craspedia a.k.a. Billy balls! I absolutely love them. I don't know if this is normal or not, but I've totally been planning my wedding in my head for several years and I'm pretty much set on having Craspedia in my wedding! They are so simple and fun, and I love the color. I just hope they aren't too expensive :)

I really like the way they look paired with succulents, and you know what's easy to take care of? SUCCULENTS! What do you guys think? Have you ever been to a wedding or event where Craspedia was used? I think it's such a great little bud (flower? seed? i don't know...I'm plant ignorant). Who knows what I'll think when I actually do get married though...

Me = 23

That's right...I'm 23, and I'm not happy about it. I have this really irrational fear of growing up! I am a responsible adult, but I lament the fact that I don't have near as much freedom as I used to. I can't just pick up and go somewhere whenever I want to... I can't sleep it on weekdays... I can't wear pigtails. You see? It's incredibly sad. But, I need to move on and just enjoy my 23rd year! Thanks to everyone that wished me a happy birthday. You all made my birthday a very special day!

I'm trying not to eat out as much, so we ate in at the office! Sarah made some absolutely delicious taco soup and we had guac, hummus, and veggies to go with it. We're all trying to get our 5 veggie servings a day, so we chowed down on them! 

Just another day at the office. I was born in the 80s so I thought an 80s top would be appropriate.

The best part of my day was getting this little cupcake flower arrangement from Rhett! He's not a flower guy by any means... but I guess all my hint-dropping finally got through. I'm not big into flowers either, but I think every girl enjoys them once in a while! And he did so good finding something unique and special so I know he put a lot of thought into it. There was some confusion in the delivery process, but I got them and I was so excited :) Later that night Mom and Guy took Rhett and me out to dinner.
