Bri & Andrew's Sunny Fall Engagement at Three Way Park

Yesterday was my very last wedding of the year, which I still can't believe. And now that I've got some time, I wanted to catch up on posting some engagement sessions. I didn't take on any weddings in October because my summer was so full, but I ended up shooting so many engagement sessions that I still got behind on my posting. Let's remedy that. 

These are some of my favorite shots from Bri and Andrew's engagement session at Three Way Park. I love this park, and I noticed that a lot of other photographers do as well! I was walking around the trail with my friend before this session and counted five other photographers having sessions. I guess I picked a popular spot, but luckily when Bri and Andrew got there, we had it mostly to ourselves. The light was absolutely perfect, and I drug them all over the park for an hour. I love the results not only because of the light, but because these two have amazing smiles. I couldn't help but smile from behind the camera as I was photographing them, especially during the moments when I had them just talk to each other.  

We took a few family photos with their son. He could definitely be a baby Gap model! Or toddler Gap if that's a thing.

Rachel & Austin's Fall Engagement Session

I think Rachel and Austin's engagement session was darn near perfect. We had to push it back a day because it just wouldn't stop raining, but the day we went with ended up being amazing! The sun was shining and the temperature wasn't too cold or too hot (just right...ahhhh). The entire time, Rachel kept saying they were being awkward and questioning herself, but I assured her they were doing great. Clearly I wasn't lying! These are some of my favorite shots of the season because of how perfectly these two go together. They did a wonderful job interacting and posing, and they had some awesome outfits to top it off. Here are just a few of my favorites from the session.

 

Seriously, could they be any more perfect?! I am so excited to shoot their wedding at the beginning of next year's wedding season.

Oh speaking of wedding season...it's over! Woot! I mean that in the best way possible. I love what I do, but I'm happy to have the slower winter months to re-coup. I guess my season technically ended in September, but I took on a ton of engagement sessions during October, so it feels like it's just wrapping up. I have one wedding this weekend that I'm super pumped about, and then one a month until May. It'll be just enough to keep me from losing my mojo! Or something like that...

Brad & Danielle's Sunny Boho Engagement Session

A couple of weeks ago, Danielle and Brad met me out at the Ag Center for their engagement session. It was a perfect day out, and I was excited to shoot in that nice warm sunshine! Danielle wore this gorgeous lace boho dress for the session, and it looked perfect for these shots. She also had her hair braided with a flower hairpiece in the back. So cute! Brad looked nice too, of course. Can't leave out the groom!

I loved this one even though the 5 was blowing back a little. I thought their genuine laughs were adorable.

You can tell he likes to aggravate her! This is how my husband is, so I can relate.  

I had a great time getting to know these two! They are so quiet, but they clearly love being together. I am excited to capture their wedding story this coming May!

Fall Engagement (Yes, I'm Always Behind)

I shot these back in the Fall, but I was pretty busy back then, so I never got around to blogging them. Matt and Jessica are getting married this June, and I'm so excited to shoot their wedding! Matt and I went to elementary school together, and I was totally on board when he asked me if I could document their big day. It's always fun reconnecting with people from childhood! I actually just booked a wedding with another friend from my childhood church. She even got me going to the gym she goes to!

Jessica had a pretty clear vision of what she wanted, so I tried to capture that for her. I am really pleased with how they turned out! I was hoping for a sunny day to get some great backlighting, but the overcast look ended up being really nice. Looking at these now, I'm really missing the greenery and the warmth. It's just been so frigid out lately!

Matt and Jessica are both very fit and exercise together, so we incorporated that into their shoot. Of course by the time we got to those it was almost too dark, so I had to break out the speedlite. All things considered, I think they're cute :) We tried to get a couple of Kolbie (the dog) running with them, but she was a little too excited about it. I LOVED shooting some with Kolbie though, and I kind of wish all of my couples had pups to use in their engagement sessions. Ever since getting Chipper, I have been 100% obsessed with dogs.

I hope you all enjoyed these shots! I am moving toward only doing weddings and wedding related portraits (engagement, bridal) in the near future, so I'm hoping to really hone my skills in that area. Of course I'll also put focus on product and promotional work, but as there isn't much demand for that around here, it's a secondary focus.
