Bri & Andrew's Sunny Fall Engagement at Three Way Park

Yesterday was my very last wedding of the year, which I still can't believe. And now that I've got some time, I wanted to catch up on posting some engagement sessions. I didn't take on any weddings in October because my summer was so full, but I ended up shooting so many engagement sessions that I still got behind on my posting. Let's remedy that.

These are some of my favorite shots from Bri and Andrew's engagement session at Three Way Park. I love this park, and I noticed that a lot of other photographers do as well! I was walking around the trail with my friend before this session and counted five other photographers having sessions. I guess I picked a popular spot, but luckily when Bri and Andrew got there, we had it mostly to ourselves. The light was absolutely perfect, and I drug them all over the park for an hour. I love the results not only because of the light, but because these two have amazing smiles. I couldn't help but smile from behind the camera as I was photographing them, especially during the moments when I had them just talk to each other.

We took a few family photos with their son. He could definitely be a baby Gap model! Or toddler Gap if that's a thing.

Congrats, Bri & Andrew! I look forward to being there for your wedding next year.

Abby & John Austin - Cotton Field Engagement Session

It's not often I get to shoot in a cotton field, and it's even less often that I get to shoot the cotton field with the farmer in it! Actually, never. I'd never done that...

Until last week when I met Abby and John Austin at the Fincher family farmland. :) John Austin's family has farmed for generations, and he is proudly carrying on the tradition. I thought it was a great idea when Abby mentioned photos in the cotton, because cotton fields are so pretty this time of year and because the land is a special part of their lives.

I loved getting to know these two while we were shooting. I was trying hard to carry on a conversation while climbing over rows of cotton. I don't know how they were perfectly composed, because I was sweating and panting like I'd just run a few miles. Anyway, here are some of my favorite images from their session the other night. I'm so excited to shoot their wedding next summer!

After we shot quite a bit in the field, we headed over to John Austin's home and stopped along the way to get photos with some farm equipment.

Wasn't sure this was going to work, but I think it's adorable!

I don't think I took a single bad picture of these two. They are just THAT cute! Hope you guys had as much fun as I did :)

Jonathan & Breanne - Rural Tennessee Summer Engagement Session

Last weekend, I met Jonathan and Breanne out at the property of a family friend. It was this gorgeous location in Denmark with so much scenery! On top of that, halfway through the session, we went to Jonathan's home just down the road where there were rolling fields and a pretty sunset to work with. We had such a great time shooting out here, and I'm so excited to document their big day early next year! Here are some of my favorite shots from the evening:

Isn't that the perfect end to the session?! I love a good Tennessee sunset, and this one was incredibly mild compared to a lot that we get. I was crossing my fingers for some great color, but I'm just happy we got a little bit.

After we finished up, I headed down to First Presbyterian for my absolute favorite event of the year, the Starlight Symphony! I missed some of the beginning, but once I got there, I squeezed in with some friends and I got to hear the orchestra play John Williams pieces from Jurassic Park, The Empire Strikes Back, and Harry Potter. It was amazing! I think Rhett was wishing he'd come with me when I told him what the special pieces were. Of course at the end, they did the traditional Ride of the Valkyries, 1812 Overture (with cannons!), and God Bless America. There may be one other one that I'm forgetting, but you get the picture. It was SUCH a perfect evening.  I already have a wedding booked for the date of next year's Starlight (or the date I assume it'll be), so I tried to relish in this year's event to get me through :) ha!

Stacey & Alex's Fun Bowling Alley Engagement (Plus a Puppy!)

The title is a little misleading as only part of this session is in the bowling alley, but the outdoor photos are equally as cute because Stacey and Alex are just darn adorable! Jack, their adorable dog, is so precious too. He jumped in a few photos with them and was a champ! The reason that Stacey and Alex wanted some photos in the bowling alley is because Alex's dad built and has run the Bowling and Skating Family Fun Center for the past 20 years. I love that they wanted to incorporate that into the shoot, and I am really pleased with the shots. We took them about an hour before opening so we had the place to ourselves.

We were dealing with about an 80% chance of rain in the forecast, and it was sprinkling when we got to the bowling alley. Luckily by the time we got done it had stopped, and we got some good photos outside at Alex's dad's house (which is BEAUTIFUL). The rain made the greens look so bright and vivid, so it wasn't all bad!

Jack in his spiffy shirt!

My favorite!

Now we just have a few more weeks until their wedding! It's going to be at one of my favorite venues too, The Opera House.
