Houston - Newborn Lifestyle and 3 Month Photos

Kids are NOT my specialty, but for the right folks (wedding clients, usually), I will take baby pictures. The Richersons just happen to be some of those folks, and these are their newborn and three month photos for their little buddy Houston. For his newborn photos, I just went to their house and took photos of them playing with him in their home. I don't know all the tricks for posing newborns, so it was great to just get him being held and loved on. For the 3 month photos we met at a park on a GORGEOUS evening, and I just love the sun-drenched photos we got. Six month photos will be coming up soon! I just can't believe how fast time flies.

3 Months

Celebrating Blakely's First Year

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing a sweet first birthday party for a fellow photographer. Amber mentioned in our Facebook group that she needed someone to come photograph the celebration so that she could just enjoy herself, and I'm so excited that she asked me to do it! I was totally not expecting such an amazingly decorated party, so I was pleasantly surprised. Some of the decor was left from a wedding in the barn a few weeks back, and they incorporated all of that really well. Of course with Amber being a photographer, there were plenty of pictures of Blakely all around. That little stinker is CUTE! I just want to squeeze her little chubby cheeks and leg rolls. There is seriously nothing more adorable than a sweet little one year old baby. It almost (big almost here) makes me want one of my own.

I mean just look at those details! And that cake! Blakely was mesmerized by the huge balloons and the lights. I loved all the faces she was making as she came in to the party.

The party was super laid back and fun, and I just really enjoyed capturing lots of candid moments and expressions. Watching her dig into that cake was just precious! Blakely is so blessed to have such a caring and sweet family to raise her up. Thanks so much for letting me be a part of the celebration, Amber! 

Baby B

Our church has a new member! Beatrice is about a month old now, and she's such a sweetie. I went over to visit the other day and take a few shots, and she was a perfect little angel the whole time. I can't believe how much hair she was born with, and when it's wet, it get's curly! I wanted to smuggle her out with me, but I'm sure I wouldn't get away with it. Anyway, I hope these pictures fulfill your daily cuteness requirements!

The middle name of each child born in the family is Simpelo, Amanda's maiden name. It's a Filipino tradition. I kind of love that tradition, and they got lucky having a nice pleasant name like Simpelo. It just rolls off the tongue :) I don't think McMurry would sound quite as good as a middle name...

Noah at 3 Months

I have probably mentioned this on here before, but I do not consider myself competent in photographing babies. I do it occasionally for friends, or in this case for another photographer who had to pass the job off to me. I try to avoid it though, because there are people around here that are SO MUCH BETTER (example), and people for real need good photos of their babies. That phase passes in a flash! Still, when I do them, I do my best. I'm usually pretty happy with the results, but they definitely aren't my best work.   

It helps when the baby is an absolute angel. Noah barely made a peep during the whole shoot. I could have just taken him home with me! Hopefully the parents were at least a little happy with the results :)

Pumpkins and Pictures

I took my camera with me to the boyfriend's house the other day to take some pictures of his niece. She is 9 months old already! It seems like she was just born yesterday. Anyway, here are some of the pictures I took. She got fed up with our harassment pretty quickly, so we only got a few. I love the ones with the pumpkins, so I wanted to share them here!

You all have permission to gush about how adorable she is. I don't think I can accurately express how much I love babies...especially this baby! She's like...the perfect child. Of course I don't live there, but every time I'm over she is seriously just an angel! She is always such a happy baby.

I hope you guys are enjoying some nice Fall weather! It's gotten chilly and rainy here, but I'm hoping it will warm back up a little soon. I'm not ready for winter yet!
