Houston - Newborn Lifestyle and 3 Month Photos

Kids are NOT my specialty, but for the right folks (wedding clients, usually), I will take baby pictures. The Richersons just happen to be some of those folks, and these are their newborn and three month photos for their little buddy Houston. For his newborn photos, I just went to their house and took photos of them playing with him in their home. I don't know all the tricks for posing newborns, so it was great to just get him being held and loved on. For the 3 month photos we met at a park on a GORGEOUS evening, and I just love the sun-drenched photos we got. Six month photos will be coming up soon! I just can't believe how fast time flies.

3 Months

Lancaster Fall Family Photos

In the fall, my coworker Scott asked me to take some family photos for him out at their lovely home in the woods. They have a great space with tons of trees and a really awesome tree house! I mostly photographed their adorable kids, but I got a few full family shots in. I love the way these turned out, even though most of the leaves had fallen by the time we shot them. The yellow leaves in that first photo are my absolute favorite!

Is Amelia gorgeous or what?! I'm going to have to get her to model for me soon.

Fall is definitely my favorite season, and I really miss it when winter just seems to drag on and on! I hope you all have been staying warm in this little cold snap. I've been stuck in the house for 3 days now, and I'm going a little nuts. I am planning on trying to get out in a bit...that is if I can make it out of my icy neighborhood.

Winter Family Sessions

A few weeks before Christmas, I had the privilege of doing photos for a friend of mine from high school. She wanted pictures of her adorable kiddos, but I talked her into being in the photos herself. Since it was so cold and kind of gross out, she asked a cousin of hers if we could use her home. I actually ended up doing portraits for the family that owns the home as well! It was so much fun, and I love how the photos turned out.

Aren't Brittany's kids just precious?! They are both such cuties, and after a little coaxing we actually got her little boy to smile. He did the best when Brittany was in the photo with them.

Family sessions are one of my favorite types of photography. I love seeing how families interact and capturing those memories. I hope to add many more family sessions to my portfolio in 2014!

Babin Family - Merry Christmas!

It's been a WHILE since I've posted because I've just been doing other things. I guess I haven't thought of blogging much recently, besides photo shoots. I still do fun things, I just forget to take pictures and write about them! I wanted to post some family photos that I did a few days before Christmas though because I just love them. I did 3 sessions that weekend, and they were all a lot of fun! 

Readers, meet the Babins! Emily (light gray top) is one of my dearest friends and former college roommate. While we were roommates I came to know her family, and I am so thankful for them!

We shot these in downtown Collierville around the square. It was quite cold that day, but these guys were troopers! I loved all the gorgeous Christmas decorations up, especially the big Christmas tree in the middle of the square. If I lived closer, I would definitely do more sessions there.

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas filled with joy and family fun! Rhett and I were on the go for a couple of days just hopping between family gatherings. It was exhausting but nice. Today we enjoyed playing with the WiiU game we bought with our Christmas money :) I love these lazy days!

Justin + Bethany Family

I don't do a ton of family sessions, but I really enjoy them! One thing I loved about this particular session was that it was a friend of mine from high school. Bethany and I both graduated in the same class, but I haven't seen her in years. Of course I keep up with most people on Facebook, so I knew she had some adorable kiddos, but it was great to meet them in person! Laiklyn absolutely loved having her picture taken, so we played in the backyard while we waited for the rest of the family to get ready. This is why I love my job. I mean does it get much better than playing with adorable kids?! 

Can't you tell she just LOVES the camera?! They were all great to work with, and I was so happy to get to hang out with them for a little bit.

I have a couple more family sessions coming up in a couple of weeks, so I'm excited for that. I am also shooting a wedding in Birmingham next weekend! I have been busy busy busy if you can't tell. I definitely don't mind. In fact with the extra work, I felt comfortable with us buying a couch! We've been needing one for a while, so I am really excited to get it. We ended up getting a brown one because there aren't many gray options, so I guess I'm going to have to paint AGAIN! Brown and corral just don't go together. Any suggestions for wall color? We have two gray walls and two corral walls and some oak built-in shelves. The couch is like a chocolate brown. I'll take any advice I can get!
