This arch was kind of the centerpiece of the decor. Isn't it amazing?!
Jay's cake was a surprise. This is a replica of the camp house nearby where they hunt and fish (or maybe just fish?) Either way, it's a big part of his life, and he was so surprised and happy about this cake!
Those details. I CAN'T EVEN. I was blown away by everything.
She wore this beautiful cranberry dress. Love love love!
The floral design was also incredible. All around gorgeous wedding.
Lisa did her hair and makeup at home, with Jay there. None of this sneaking around and staying separate. While I get that tradition, I do love it when couples don't care about that. It sometimes allows for cute shots of them together even during the getting ready process.
Elizabeth, the maid of honor, and Lisa drove over to Jay's parent's house next door (which was also the venue) in the jeep. Lisa & Jay ride around in this jeep often, so this was a fun part of the wedding.
As you can see, Jay is making his presence known. He is a hoot! He would certainly put a smile on even the most sour face.
Once Lisa was in her dress, we arranged a real first look.
After the first look and portraits, we got as many family pictures as we could, and then just hung out before the ceremony. It was a really relaxed day.
Jay's parents. I just love them. They are SO photogenic, and smiled at each other like this constantly. Relationship goal, for sure.
This is when Lisa showed Jay his cake. He was so surprised! She said no one could tell because of his glasses, but he teared up. I believe it! That cake was amazing.
Lisa's sweet mother made the trek out to the wedding, and I made sure to get some special photos of her. She is in a nursing facility and doesn't have the best memory anymore. I know it was special for Lisa just to have her there. She was adorable, and waved at me whenever I asked her to look at the camera.
Lisa & Jay breaking into a spontaneous dance.
A couple of last minute portraits as we wait for the ceremony.
It was a wonderful ceremony, and everyone was smiling so big at the end. I loved the shot of them walking out so much! That might be my favorite of the day.
After chatting with guests and eating, it was time for cake, drinks, dancing, drinks, toasts, drinks, and more dancing. They were having a big party! I actually left while the party was still going strong, but they showed no signs of stopping. It was a wonderful celebration for two great people. I am so happy for them and wish them all the best in this new chapter of their lives! I feel honored to have been a part of this special day.
