your shoes look like paper bags

I got these funky shoes from Gilt Group not long ago, and while they are a little eclectic, I love them! They are 80%20 hidden wedge heels, and they're actually quite comfortable. The only thing I don't like is that I have to constantly adjust the strap around the top so they stay pretty close to my leg. Other than that, they're great! I got a ton of comments, a few compliments, and several raised eyebrows when I wore these. My coworkers all commented on them...Scott even said it looked like I had paper bags tied around my ankle with a hole for my toes. I have to agree, they do look a bit like paper bags around the top, but I see no problem with that :)  I don't think they are the type of shoe that I'll wear every day, but I'll definitely be busting these out when I'm feeling spunky.

What do you guys think? Would you wear them?

Also, my 300th post is coming up very soon! I want to do something special, so if you have any ideas let me know! Happy Tuesday!

too much snow to handle

These pictures are actually from last Thursday, but it just snowed AGAIN last night. This winter has brought an uncharacteristically large amount of snow to my neck of the woods. I'm just glad it's not the kind that lingers for days and days. I'm not a big fan of snow, so I'm just ready for it to stop. While it's actually snowing, I think it's the most gorgeous thing in the world, but once it becomes a slushy mess I HATE it.

I was so excited to find these BCBGeneration shoes at Marshall's for only $20! I almost always get my shoes there. I'm so rough on my shoes that I feel bad spending a lot, but this way I can get decent quality shoes and not feel bad for wearing them out! The necklace was made by my dear friend, Amanda. She doesn't make jewelry regularly, but she keeps it up as a hobby. I think she's great at it! I wish I had a closer shot of this necklace. It's made of individual wire squares.

This was pre-haircut. I am a much happier person now, without my unsightly dead ends. Also, I'd like to thank Sarah again for taking my pictures! There was no way I could set up a tripod on my back porch in the snow...without killing Chuck (my camera). Luckily Sarah was dropping by to pick something up anyway! Thanks, friend!

Who Needs Money, Anyway?

I love shoes, and I love expensive shoes. There's one little problem though, I don't make a ton of money...and even if I did, I probably still wouldn't spend it on shoes. My best option is to wait for pretties to hit the TJ Maxx or Marshall's in town. Most of the time they aren't big-name brands, but I don't mind. I do occasionally find a pretty rad pair, and I get excited! I found these Franco Sarto heels at Marshall's on sale the other day, and I have worn them several times already! I love the heel size because it's big enough that I don't wobble, but it's not so big that I feel like I'm clunking. I also love the color because it goes with EVERYTHING!!!
This was the first day I wore them (jumping in these was dangerous...I am surprised that I didn't break my ankle). I wore it with this little knit dress from Forever 21 that has really neat gold military buttons. And, yes, my hair is stringy. It's been like that all summer and I don't really know what to do about it.
HAPPY WEEKEND!
