One of my favorite types of photography is senior portraits, but I don't really do them very often! I think because there are studios that have contracts with schools, most seniors just use them. I do enjoy shooting the few that come to me though. This year I got to shoot a family friend, Mitchel. His grandmother and my mom have been friends for a long time! I got to take them out at her house, where I remember playing some as a kid. It's a gorgeous place!
I love the way they turned out! The weather was kind of bad that day, but it's been like that pretty much all summer. You never know if it's going to rain or now. You can tell the sun came out for part of the time, which is actually not good for taking pictures, but we made it work! My favorites are the ones by the lake. I just love how peaceful it is out there.
I hope you're all having a great August so far! It's hard to believe that Fall is just around the corner. I'm getting pretty excited for the lower humidity and cooler temps.

Michael Senior Portraits
Sometimes I forget how much I enjoy doing portraits. They are quick, relatively low-stress, and I get to meet great (most of the time) people! Michael is a senior here in town, and his dad got my name from another client of mine. We met up at Casey Jones Village and shot his senior portraits.
Most people around here get their senior portraits done at one of the more traditional (read: very expensive) studios in town for the yearbook and then some come to people like me to get something a little more creative and affordable. I like being able to give people a fun shoot where they can actually afford to get the pictures without taking out a second mortgage on their house! Is that a real metaphor? I hear it a lot...so I wanted to use it. Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed the pictures. Michael is a great kid, and I had fun photographing him!

Fall Senior: Candace
Most senior pictures are taken in the summer, but I got to take some in October this year! I was kind of excited to get some of the pretty Fall colors in these pictures. Candace is a senior at the school my step-dad teaches at, so that's how she knew about me. She plays three sports...THREE! Since she's athletic, we incorporated her sports uniforms into the pictures, and I am pleased with the result. Here are some of my favorites from the shoot...
They had these adorable miniature angus cows that we got to hang out with! It was crazy how short these guys were. I know cows seem super gross, but they are actually really cute. I also took some pictures with Candace's really sweet dog, too. He was so loving!
The one where Petey (I think that was his name...) was yawning/smiling made me laugh out loud when I saw it. I'm beyond happy that I caught that face.
Goodbye, Fall! I'm sorry to see you go so quickly. I feel like this season doesn't last long at all. It's already getting rainy and chilly, meaning Winter is elbowing it's way in. Until next Fall, I guess I will just look back at some of my Fall pictures and reminisce :)

Kaleigh
Dear blog, I'm so sorry that I'm still neglecting you. One of these days I will get back to regular posting, but in the meantime here are some senior pictures that I took recently.
This is Kaleigh, another of Rhett's cousins. I have noticed a trend...I photograph people who I know most of the time. That's probably because I don't advertise or have a photography website :) I guess word of mouth is a pretty good advertisement! Anyway, I was really happy with how the pictures turned out. I took them at Casey Jones, one of my favorite places in Jackson, and the sun was tucked neatly behind the clouds all morning. Thanks, sun!
I know I'm a little late, but I hope you all had a great Labor Day! I spent the day with my friends Emily and Libby. They ran the Chickfila 5K in Memphis that morning and then we did some shopping. It was an absolutely perfect day! I will share pictures soon...you'll die when you see the lake by her apartment. It's ridiculously gorgeous.

Hunter
These are some senior pictures that I did of Rhett's cousin this summer. They live out in the country, so I had lots of good scenery to work with. It was extremely sunny and hot, but I think the pictures turned out pretty well. My favorite is the one of him climbing out of the barn. I hope you guys enjoy them! It's making me wish summer was going to last just a little bit longer...I can tell Fall is just around the corner.
Everyone have a great week!
