Grilled Cheese for your Head

A while back a college friend of mine contacted me about photographing some hair accessories that she had been making. Of course, I love taking shots of products, so I was excited! We still need to do some pictures with them modeled, but I had to post these to show off all the pretty colors. This time of year is perfect to branch out and wear some fun, bright accessories, don't you think?

Right now, I think they are only selling in shops, shows and through their Facebook page, but I think they plan to open an Etsy shop eventually. Some of the clips work great for clipping on headbands for kids! If I had a little girl, I would definitely be adding some of these bright clips to her accessory collection. Heck, it might even be a cute accessory for my bridesmaids...hmmmmmm

That last picture just kind of shows the variety of things they have...several different sizes and styles  of clips, headbands, earrings...the works. I'm looking forward to shooting them soon on some models! It'll look great with the sunshine and pretty green trees we've got going on this time of year.

I hope you're all having a WONDERFUL Wednesday. Rhett is coming to take me to lunch today, which I'm pretty excited about. This week of him working night shift is kind of getting me down. I'm VERY glad that's not going to be a common thing.

Batik Pattern Clutch

A week or two ago, I entered a giveaway on the Branchbound blog for a store credit to BailyBelle's Etsy shop. Well...I won! I was so excited because I just love Vanessa's shop, as evidenced in this post and this post. So I picked out this awesome clutch with a gorgeous Batik fabric, since I already have a ton of her jewelry. It arrived the other day, packed up so nicely as usual.

The colors in the pattern are so fantastic! I haven't decided what to put in it, but I'm thinking I might use it to keep up with my car payment stubs/checks. Hopefully the bright colors will catch my eye and remind me to pay every month! Do you guys have any other ideas for what I could use it for? It's a little small to carry the contents of my purse, so it'll have to be for something special :)

New on Etsy

That's right, I'm now carrying jewelry in my Etsy shop! Each piece is made of antiqued silver plated brass, glass, and features various photos from my miniatures series. There are necklaces on 30" chains, stud earrings, and simple adjustable rings to choose from, and the photos I'm using are Lollipop Forest, Cupcake Mountains, Hungry Policemen, and Woodland Crafters 2. I'm totally beside myself with excitement about this! In fact it's really hard not to put at least 10 exclamation points after every sentence...and capitalize ALL THE WORDS!!!!!!!!!! Ok, it's out of my system. Anyway, here are some pictures of the pieces for your viewing pleasure.

How it happened:

One of my favorite things about Etsy (besides makin da monies) is the community. It sounds geeky, but I've actually made myself a few internet friends in the Etsy community! One of those friends happens to also be a photographer and runs a shop called jerseymaids. We were chatting one day about making photo jewelry, and I told her how I had tried once and BIG FAT FAILED. She proposed the idea of collaborating, and it went from there. She made all of these, and they are such good quality! I'm really impressed with her skills, and I hope this partnership continues and even grows in the future.

I'd love to know what you all think of these! I personally love them. They actually fit into my style, which I think is pretty important. New from MableMae

A new batch of pictures I took for Lenesha over at MableMae. I always enjoy doing these, and I feel like I've known Lenesha forever! Margaret and I had a lot of fun with this little shoot. She even did some outfit changes for me!
