On Monday I ordered my very first Canon L series lens. Today....it arrived! B&H is crazy fast with shipping, and I highly recommend them. This is the 100mm f/2.8 macro lens. I really love prime lenses, so I've decided to slowly get all the primes I will need to shoot and get rid of my other lenses. I will probably get one longer and then a wide (24mm probably). Until I collect them all, I will be adoring this 100mm!
I got to use it a little at work today. I went with a biology class on a field trip to identify trees and got some shots for the school's website. It was great to use the new lens!
The clarity seriously makes me giddy. I haven't tried it in low light yet, so we'll see how I feel after that. Based on reviews, it should perform very well!
I've been DYING to get a macro. I've had my new camera for almost a year without a macro lens, and it's been killing me. My miniature photos don't look near as good without a macro. But now I have one! If you can't tell, I'm extremely excited.
That's all I have for today. I hope to be able to show you guys more photos with my new lens soon! I really can't wait to shoot a wedding with it. Until then, happy Wednesday!

yay for new lenses! I am loving the clarity too. I decided I'm going to buy a new lens before I go on vacation b/c I have an 18-55 and a 55-200.. so I'm constantly chaning them out, which gets annoying.
