Michael & Jessica's Spring Wedding Portrait Session at Twin Oaks

Michael and Jessica Sanders got married this past November in a gorgeous fall wedding at Twin Oaks. The antebellum home was the perfect setting for their celebration! The ceremony was later in the day, and by the time we finished with their family photos, it was completely dark. I did what I could in the dark, but we decided we could go ahead and plan to get back together soon and recreate their wedding day portraits. I showed up at Twin Oaks earlier this week to find Jessica getting into her dress in the upstairs suite. It was major déjá vu! After her mom got her buttoned back into the dress, we leisurely walked around and took their portraits, and I LOVE the way they turned out. I kind of wish every couple could do this!! I know it's extra trouble to re-do hair and makeup, and sometimes there's plenty of daylight to get portraits, but this was sooooo nice. We had no time limit, and no one waiting on us. It was just awesome!

Sara & Timmy's Lake Graham Spring Engagement Session

I was so excited to do this engagement session with Sara and Timmy! Sara and I went to high school together, but I hadn't seen her in ages (besides our consultation). She likes nature and water, so we thought Lake Graham would be perfect for their session. It was nice and green and gorgeous! It wasn't sunny, but I like the nice soft overcast light we had. I liked the colors they chose to wear too. The blue and pink really pop against the greens.

I hope you guys enjoyed the session! I'm looking forward to the wedding this fall :)

Stacey & Alex's Fun Bowling Alley Engagement (Plus a Puppy!)

The title is a little misleading as only part of this session is in the bowling alley, but the outdoor photos are equally as cute because Stacey and Alex are just darn adorable! Jack, their adorable dog, is so precious too. He jumped in a few photos with them and was a champ! The reason that Stacey and Alex wanted some photos in the bowling alley is because Alex's dad built and has run the Bowling and Skating Family Fun Center for the past 20 years. I love that they wanted to incorporate that into the shoot, and I am really pleased with the shots. We took them about an hour before opening so we had the place to ourselves.

We were dealing with about an 80% chance of rain in the forecast, and it was sprinkling when we got to the bowling alley. Luckily by the time we got done it had stopped, and we got some good photos outside at Alex's dad's house (which is BEAUTIFUL). The rain made the greens look so bright and vivid, so it wasn't all bad!

Jack in his spiffy shirt!

My favorite!

Now we just have a few more weeks until their wedding! It's going to be at one of my favorite venues too, The Opera House.

Garner Blue Spring 2015 - Indigo Dyed Handmade

My creative and talented friend Lisa deserves all the credit for this lovely spring shoot for Garner Blue, her line of indigo-dyed products. She gathered 4 of our gorgeous friends and styled each of them perfectly to model her pieces. She also picked out these cool locations around town, one of which featured an impromptu strip show from a random woman in the parking lot. It was such a fantastic afternoon with perfect warm weather and lots of laughter with friends. We even enjoyed some delicious pizza from Rock N Dough after the shoot (you NEED to go there if you're a Jacksonian).

If you like what you see, check out Jackson Pop-Up Shops, which Lisa organizes and sells her work in. The next one is coming up April 24-25! See you there?

I had a hard time narrowing these down, so I'll shut up and just let you get to lookin'

And some cutie pie behind-the-scenes action:

Beth, who couldn't find her brush, teasing her hair with a car ice brush/scraper. As Courtney called it: "The Big Tease"

And Julia being Julia. It's hard not to have a good time with these girls! I'm so thankful to be a part of Garner Blue, even in this small capacity. I can't wait to see what else Lisa comes up with!
