Companion Gallery Photos

Just a little up the road from Jackson is a cozy vineyard/winery with a pottery studio and gallery up on the hill. The owner of the studio is my friend Eric Botbyl, and he spends his days making gorgeous pottery, teaching other people to make gorgeous pottery, and displaying/selling all of this said gorgeous pottery in his gallery. It's a neat place! A while back I photographed the gallery before a big sale they had, and I wanted to share the results. If you find yourself in Humboldt, Tennessee (or any place close) you should hop over to the Crown Winery for a bottle of Chambourcin (or whatever you fancy...it's all good) and then go get a Botbyl Pottery goblet to drink it out of.

Amelia Stamps (AMAZING!)

This colorful work is by my friend/former roommate/running buddy, Kelsey Nagy.

The Companion Gallery also carries soap from Made on Acorn Hill and a variety of jewelry, even some bracelets by the young Botbyl girls.

I've got so much pottery that I'm running out of room for it. No matter, I'll just keep stacking them deeper and deeper. Rhett complains that I have way too much, but I just ignore it. You can never have too much pottery! I love knowing exactly who made the mug I am drinking my morning coffee from. Some of my favorite pieces are from my best buddies who are potters (looking at you Kelsey and Paige).

Do you guys use handmade pottery?

The Staders, A Runners Wedding

Rehearsal dinner performance by Dudes A-Plenty. That would be my chiropractor in the front there. These are some goofy guys, but they sure are fun!

Scott and Jana got married back in February here in Jackson. I was referred to them by a fellow photographer, and once I heard that they were runners, I knew it was a great match! Sometimes you just immediately click with people, especially when you share a major hobby. I was thrilled that they chose me to document their rehearsal and wedding, with a 5K squeezed in there.

Starting and finishing together! This 5K was the morning of the wedding. It was killing me not to be running with them!

This is what they refer to as "the Stader" and it's become a staple for their friend group. Scott started a Facebook group for streakers (running every day, not running naked) called RUN365, and the whole community has embraced this pose. It's quite the phenomenon.

They are both big Hoka One One fans, so they wore them during the wedding. I'm pretty sure they were a gift from the company! How cool is that?!

As you can probably tell from the photos, this was a fun wedding to shoot. I am talking ZERO stress at this wedding. Everyone was just there to have fun and celebrate with Scott and Jana. It was everything a wedding should be, plus a little awesome running sprinkled on for good measure.

Spring Pop-Up Shop, Handmade Goods

My friends Lisa and Keely put together this really great little pop-up shop a few weeks back, and they've got another one coming up this weekend! This time it's called Summer Swell, which is just adorable, and I'm planning to have a few of my prints for sale. I just love this curated collection of awesome handmade wares. At this past one I picked up some art, greeting cards, a magazine and a leather keychain. I'm pumped about my friend Meredith selling her pottery this time around! It's going to be a great time, so if you're around Jackson town Saturday, you should definitely stop by.

The cord organizer that Keely makes is fantastic! I might have to get one after seeing Lee using his. Maybe if I have that I won't forget to pack my photo charger when I travel...
