We all good? Ok.
So guess what I did Sunday? I decided it would be fun to smash my thumb in the car door! Yeah! No, but really...holy crap did that hurt. Admittedly, I'm a bit of a baby when it comes to pain, but I think this would be painful for just about anybody. So this whole ordeal has really made me thankful for my thumbs. Almost everything I do involves my thumb in some way, so of course life is a little more difficult without it. I decided you guys might like a completely useless list of things that are difficult with a smashed thumb. You're welcome!
COMPLETELY USELESS LIST OF THINGS THAT ARE DIFFICULT WITH A SMASHED THUMB
- texting (on a full keypad)
- typing (spacebar in-particular)
- using the bathroom (tmi, i know...but for real)
- buttoning anything (since when do ALL THE THINGS have buttons?!)
- pulling clothes from the bottom of the stack (as I so often love to do)
- turning the page of a book (shut up you crazy digital book readers)
- turning a key (front door, car ignition)
- pulling out a wedgie (i do this way too much)
- tying your shoes
- pulling your hair into a ponytail
- picking up my fat cat
- opening a soda bottle
- UPDATE: making dinner (from CB)
- UPDATE: cutting with a knife (from CB)
- UPDATE: using a lighter (from CB)
What else would be hard with a smashed thumb? If you can think of anything else I could add, let me know and I'll add it and give you credit!
In case you are very concerned about my well-being, fret not. Nurse Paul put a couple of holes in the nail and it is slowing but surely starting to feel better. I'm on the road to recovery!

HOLES. IN YOUR NAIL?!! Was that more painful than the actual injury?? It makes me sweat just to think about it.
ReplyDeleteOnce I slammed my pelvis in the car door. I seriously thought I chipped off a piece of bone or something. I guess I forgot to get completely OUT of the car before I shut the door!
Anyway feel better! Maybe you could paint the rest of your nails to match ;)
ouch! it looks kinda a cool though but sorry it had to happen to you. making dinner, cutting with a knife, using a lighter, well i could go on! hope it heals up fast!
